Donald J. Carswell, Jr. (“DJ”) is an Associate Attorney at Press, Dozier & Hamelburg, LLC where his practice focuses on business litigation as well as personal injury and wrongful death matters.  In addition to litigation, DJ has gained extensive experience advising community associations, businesses, and individuals in commercial disputes, judgment collection, and other business and personal legal matters.  Throughout his career, DJ has successfully represented numerous individuals and companies in a wide range of legal matters and disputes throughout Maryland and Washington D.C.

DJ’s strategic approach to litigation, combined with his strong analytical skills, has earned him a reputation as a skilled litigator in the legal community who is not afraid to take his case to trial when necessary. He has handled numerous complex cases, including business contract disputes, fiduciary and probate litigation, real estate litigation, and he also has extensive experience securing compensation for those involved in personal injury and wrongful death matters.

DJ has built a strong reputation for his dedication to his clients and his commitment to achieving favorable outcomes throughout Maryland and Washington D.C. He is known for his meticulous attention to detail, strategic thinking, and strong advocacy skills. Before joining the team at PD&H, DJ worked as a litigation associate for a local Rockville-based firm and also as outside counsel to community associations with another firm in Washington D.C.  He is involved in the Maryland State Bar Association and Bar Association of Montgomery County, where he was a 2017 Fellow of the Association’s Leadership Development Academy. 

DJ is a 2015 graduate of the University of Baltimore School of Law where he served as the Student Bar Association’s Liaison to the American Bar Association and Maryland State Bar Association.  He also served as a Rule 16 Student Attorney representing incarcerated individuals in bail review hearings from the Baltimore County Detention Center.
